Forks knows how lucky our town is to have been popularized by the Stephenie Meyer Twilight Saga. As such, Forks hosts Stephenie Meyer Day ever year on Bella’s Birthday.
This year’s event is scheduled for September 12th and 13th - and let me tell you that lodging is nearly impossible to find now. But if you enjoy a challenge, it CAN be done. At any rate, the tentative schedule can be reviewed at www.forkswa.com; but looks a little something like this:
A weekend honoring author Stephenie Meyer for all she has done to boost visitation to Forks - on Bella’s Birthday!
Tentative Schedule:
Saturday, September 12th
8:00am Breakfast served at Forks Congregational Church (171 Campbell Street)
10:00am Tour of Forks High School ($3.00 fee)
*10:00am Vendors begin selling “Twilight” inspired items at Tillicum Park ($25 per vendor table per day).
(Includes Disney artist Tim Kirk who will be drawing character sketches of attendees).
11:00am Tour of Forks High School ($3.00 fee)
12:00noon Tour of Forks High School ($3.00 fee)
1:00pm Tour of Forks High School ($3.00 fee)
2:00pm Group photo - taken at Tillicum Park
2:30pm Twilight characters look-alike contest/judging at Tillicum Park
3:30pm Decorated car judging contest - at Forks Memorial Library
Evening event in La Push on First Beach -Sponsored by Quileute Nation
(Includes bonfire and Quileute story telling) - Time to be announced
Sunday, September 13th:
*10:00am Vendors selling items at Tillicum Park
1:00pm Forks Mayor reads proclomation for “Stephenie Meyer” day
1:15pm Birthday cake for all celebrating Bella’s Birthday
* Vendors must be fully licensed and have appropriate permits. Setup by 9:00am both days & close at 7:00pm

I won’t be able to attend Bella’s birthday bash, due to I’m back at school. (teaching special needs kids), But have been there seen it all and really wish I could be there. Wish Bella a Happy Birthday for me and hopefully next year we can be there. I’ll skip school.

I plan on being there and I am very excited to come and be a part of the celebration! I am also thrilled to come and see the area. I will be traveling alone as my friends who are interested cannot come and my adult children think I am nuts! Oh well - I am still excited to come out there. I may decide to stay! Looking forward to seeing your shop too.
I am very excited to be joining the festivities this year! Coming all the way down from Nome, Alaska! (its very far away, you can google it.) and I will of course be documenting my journey on my blog! See you all soon!
